Default Kasabian / The Music / Ian Brown

I was on a shopping spree on Amazon UK as there was some stuff that ain't available over here.

1) Kasabian - Kasabian. This is good, very good infact. Kind of Stone Roses, Happy Mondaysish type stuff, but different enough to be interesting. You can hear their stuff here - http://www.kasabian.co.uk/album/ - and buy it here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...081926-8245409. Definate recommendation if you like your Indie/Alternative stuff.

2) Ian Brown - Solarized. I don't know about this, I've only listened to it once through so maybe I'm not being fair, but then again, did this album grab me by the throat and say 'I'm the shit dude!!'?.......No. Check him out here - http://www.ianbrown.co.uk and buy it here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...966425-7163624. I like Ian Brown, so if you do, buy it. This'll probably grow on me like a super cancer as his other albums do. You gotta hand it to him for staying original and doing his own thing.

3) The Music - Welcome To The North. Once again, I've only listened to this once but unlike Ian Brown's Solarized which did enough to be interesting and make me curious enough to listen to it more, this was just blatant crap to be honest with you. The title track is good, but the rest just sucked arse. I really liked their first album and the song 'Take the long road and walk it' is one of the best songs this decade - but, I'm sorry boys, this didn't cut the mustard. I'm going to listen to it more, but I don't hold out too much hope. It was too 80's metalish, rather than being more like heavy Indie type music, as with the first album. Buy it here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...966425-7163624

As Meatloaf once said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
