Thumbs up Palm Island Dubai

I watched a documentary on this on the National Geographic channel 'Mega Structures' - it is amazing.

See the image below, they've basically built a man-made island shaped like a palm tree with a circular breakwater protecting it. It showed the amount of planning and work that had to go into it. The Prince of Dubai (al Rashid Maktoom - or something like that) is not only stinking rich but he's ambitious and likes to get things done asap. The islands were started in 2000 and he wanted them finished in 2006!! They've now been put back to 2008, but that is a 99% definate date. Not only is the construction amazing, but the timeframe is also pretty remarkable too.

It takes about 8 years to build a half decent motorway in England!

At the end of the program it talks about how he has more plans...not just plans, but construction is actually beginning on 3 more islands!! One of them is called 'The World' and is a global map split up into little islands - each one costing a few million doallrs. The apartments and houses on the palm tree islands are very nice, but they sounded quite reasonably priced for what you get. Apparently Beckham has bought one.

Lovely! I'll look out for that, I love the National Geo progs.

(and Britain builds decent motorways then? Oh, I dunno what the millions of road cones are for then.)

Small dick disease, the guy obviously has a small dick so he builds all this shit to make up for what he lacks...also included are large yachts and expensive sports cars.

Thank god for men with small dicks then.

The Japanese built this airport on an artificial island, pretty impressive too.
