Yes, I used leetspeak and psychology in the same title. I liked the oxymoronics. If you haven't heard of it already, go read The Stanford Prison Experiment (http://www.prisonexp.org). It's an amazing adventure in psychology, and what can happen to normal people when they are assigned roles they normally would never explore.[/url]

Yeah, some bloke was talking about it on CNN when the Iraqi prison thing was going on. I think a reality TV show was done in England with a prison being set up, and basically everyone went friggin nuts.

It's kinda like The Wave (it's a book read up here in Canada in Grade 9 by most kids, it was made into a movie... and it's pretty insane. And it's true; that's the crazy part) where it was only meant to be a simulation, but it got totally out of hand. and it's a short read- if you liked the spe, read The Wave.

I saw a German movie with the same premise. it was called Das Experiment. yeah, it was pretty freaky. the reason i rented it in the first place was because the lead is that cute lead guy from Run Lola Run.

i've been trying to get my hands on the stanford prison experiment video. without paying some insane fee for one viewing. i tried to get my library to bring it in.
it's seriously messed up.
when i first read it, i thought it mus be fictionalized.
but when you study (either from a book or just observation) the mob mentality etc ... people are strange.
the german movie "das experiment" was interesting, kinda neat but i would be more interested in the actual study.
i would actually like to take part in the experiment, though it would probably take a long time to "recover" from it.

Bonjour Starladear.
You are sentenced to 8 weeks in solitary for reasons that are confidential at this time.
The rest of you are on bread and water rations.
That is all, you're dismissed.
