i saw these over the weekend. the virgin suicides and falling down are cinematic gold. life of david gale was i little boring and predictable 'cetera, 'cetera...

i think i probably mentioned before how much i like falling down. it's inieresting because, excluding michael douglas, the acting is kind of poor. but that movie gets me pumped up. working class hero sticking it to the man.... ayyyyye muhmmEEEE

yeah man, I go to sleep watching Falling Down a lot, it's a great movie. best part is....

"Now aren't you sorry you didn't let me pass? Now you're gonna die wearing that stupid hat."

And The Virgin Suicides was really really good too... superb. My friend Michael said that The Life of David Gale was pretty damn depressing at the end... worse than Requiem for a Dream... but I love that movie.

Falling Down is great - ideal time to watch is a Sunday evening before another long shitty week at work. I don't know if the acting is crap, but I don't like David Duval - he's the same in every movie.

I've got Virgin Suicides on my list at Netflix. I've had the AIR soundtrack album for a few years now yet haven't seen the film, supposed to be the other way round innit?

I saw Phonebooth over the weekend. I liked that alot.

do you mean Robert Duvall? he may play essentially the same character in all his movies, but i tend to like the characters he plays. I saw a bit of Virgin Suicides on TV the other night, but i didn't catch it all.

Yeah, that's right, it didn't sound right.

David Duvall is a golfer isn't he?

I've enver seen it on TV, but I'm sure that unless it was on HBO or something where it's not edited, it would ruin it.

Yeah, I guess SG is pretty depressing, but it's not a complete bummer. It's just a fantastically written movie, a rareity these days.

I watched The Virgin Suicides and well, I didn't find it too powerful.

It was definitely dreamy, and i wish i had the aid of drugs or alcohol
to enhance the experience.

sort of like, big fish...
it was an interesting story ... but it wasn't fantastic.

and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. same thing. i enjoyed it, but apparently not as some people did, according to rave reviews from others.

perhaps it's positive media.

like when I watched the blair witch project and thought it was great. mainly because i didn't hear the hype before i saw it (yes, i live under a rock.)

Saw 'Life of David Gale' last night and thought it was really good. It's not predictable enough to be boring, but it's not as complicated as to leave you asking 'That made no sense what-so-ever'.

Good film.......and, by the Holy Spirits of Greyskull, who is that student girl at the beginning that gets banged by David Gale? I think she's the future Mrs Shiola.com.
