the offer for a free CD is legit. i was the winner of the first CD giveaway about 2 years ago when the forum was first established. the site admins even thanked me for my musical selection. i will certainly be making my five posts in this forum because i am broke right now but would love to have them buy me a new CD.

i just noticed that your location says you are in kansas city. is that right? man, i love kansas city. a few years ago i had 4 pitchers of bud (alright, i didn't finish the 4th one) at Blaney's in westport. later that night, i passed out on the taxi stand outside the Westin hotel in downtown. i don't know how long it took my friends to find me and walk me back up to our room, but man, that town was just one big party from the time i got there until the time that the cop pulled my friend and i over in Belton, MO for driving the wrong direction on the highway on-ramp. after that we just bithced about missouri for the 7 hour drive home.

dontpanic - you had two birthdays in a year and a half? No wonder time flies for you!! ;) You're probably actually only about 24 in Earth years. I'm very near to 30 too, actually, make that 'disgustingly' near. Howabout we switch to Jupiter years?

poop skid - you're playing a blinder son!!

I'm sorry, Shiola, I'm not up to date on all of your fancy pants english terms and phrases. What does "Playing a blinder" mean?

Oh,

Yes Dontpanic, I live in KC, Mo. Actually I'm in between MO and KS a lot, but yeah. Where are you at again? Westport is fun, it's where all the bars and stuff are. I live in Grandview, in the Ghetto. It's nice.

'blinder' or 'blinding' - infers that you are doing so well at something that you are like a shining beacon to the rest of us, shining so brightly that you are blinding our eyes.

eg. 'the crackwhores in Grandview give blinding blow jobs.'

shiola - i had two birthdays in a year and a half because my birthday is in january and i have already had it this year. i am 27 now. far to close to 30 for comfort. i'd love to go to jupiter, but we'd probably get lost. you would refuse to ask for directions.

poop - i'm in oklahoma city.

speaking of not always understanding the english phrases...i rented the first season of "the office" and i only understood about 70% of it without the captions on. after i rewatched it with the captions, i still only got about 95% of the jokes. for the other 5% of the time i just thought about episodes of "the simpsons" in my head. man, that's a funny show.

I have the greatest invention ever in my lap. It's a thing where you pull the handle, and the hand type thing on the end closes. basically it's a grabber of sorts.

I use it to get the remote, grab boobs, whatever.

dontpanic - OKC has the creepiest bus station ever. I was stuck there for about an hour and a half one time. Creepy as shit.
You ever plan on being in KC again?

OKC does have a creepy bus station. Once, when I was bored and still in high school, my friends and i went out there and pretended to sing for money. Quite sad actually. we didn't make a dime.

I suggest that if you ever have to wait there again that you walk down the block and visit the myriad gardens. it is a monster greenhouse and is a nice place to relax.

I hope to go to KC again but i have only been the one time - for four days. My friend had a national conference of information technology professionals to go to and i tagged along because the total cost of the trip was very cheap and it was either that or go to my job. you can see how the choice was easy.

of course, quite easy indeed. I actually just got out of an interview for a position in research of sorts for MDA (Muscular Distrophy Assosciation... would probably help if I could spell it, eh?) so yeah.

Ummm KC is okay, as I said before... but there really isn't much to do here for how big of a city it is. I mean, 2 million people and you'd think there'd be more excitement. If you're ever up, gimme a shout.

i can imagine that it, like any place, gets pretty mundane after a bit. though i must say that i think it has plenty of things to do if you are only there for a weekend.

i went to los angeles last september and plan to go back this summer or fall. one of my best friends moved out there, so i don't have to pay for a hotel. that knocks half the cost of a trip off right there. there is a ton of stuff happening all the time out there. but even as i was standing outside a comedy club on hollywood blvd. being offered weed from a guy who looked pretty shady and watching a street magician do tricks just down the block from where i saw breakdancers on the sidewalk and people walking around dressed as storm troopers and spongebob squarepants, i realized that it would only take about a month for me to be bored of l.a.

Street performers bore me in 0.0078 seconds flat.

i don't know, man. i think i devoted the most of my attention to the magic trick guy. i don't think he stole that 90 seconds from me, though. i wasn't doing anything else at that moment.

well, I mean.. any place can be fun if you MAKE it fun. The one thing I really like is that in missouri, fireworks are sold year-round, and liquor is sold 24/7 so you can go buy beer and fireworks at any time. :)

we went to the isle capri casino tonight, it really fucking sucked. bad. westport is good too, we were downtown and a limo full of drunk ladies came up. I rolled down my window and was all smooth like "Hello, ladies" and they pulled over, so we did too. They wanted us to come in the bar with them (Me, Jon (who is... very gay) and Shannon) but I rolled down my window and told them in a VERY German accent, thanks for the invitation but we are very busy people.

haha. See, you can have fun.

Also, in westport there was this (apparently) book store. It had 3 bookshelves out front, all of which loaded with books with prices on them. all there for the taking. However, we didnt' take any because they all sucked. I guess that's why they were still there. But at least it's some free toilet paper for a bum or something. KC is weird.

The 2 feet of snow we got is just now starting to thaw.
