Yeah, she's probably screaming blue bloody murder and digging her nails into her husbands arm and cursing his very existance as I type!

And her husband pissed off down to the pub for pre-celebration with the mates. Meanwhile, Poppet's ickle is planning the biggest rave in Scotland ever.

I think her baby's not due for a month. That means she's likely lying on the couch in a pool of sweat. Hopefully her husband will refer to the hot flashes as a "glow."

Hiya!
I'm still alive, and sadly still pregnant.
DP is right, I still have 4 weeks left. My date is the 29th may. Frankly I'm pissed off , fat and tired :(
We've also been decorating trying to do our "House Doctor" bit so we can sell and get a bigger place, so been very busy.
Thanks for thinking of me,
love Pops xxxx

We don't know the sex, the hospital no longer tells you, which is a good thing 'cos it takes away any temptation you have.
Apparently they are refusing to tell parents because some people are terminating because it's not the sex they want - sick huh?
I really like the name Milly, that's my choice if it's a girl. Sadly though hubby isn't keen.
I also like the name Laura..is that too old fashioned?
Every time I hear the name Sophie it reminds me of sofa, so that's out I'm affraid!! lol
For a boy hubby likes Jack. But it's very popular and too many Jacks as it is. I quite like Alex, but that might be old too.
HELP ME!!!

Jack's my favorite boy's name. I also like Jeff (as in Jefferson). But please, don't go for Geoff. Eeek! I have a slight phobia of the spelling of that name. Seriously. I can't even look at it now in this post. When I read it in a book, I try to skip it and not look at it. There's no good reason, and I don't know anyone with that name spelled that way. If you feel you must use it, then go ahead. Just don't tell me. Damn, now I've got the heebie-jeebies.

Have you found that when you are deciding on a name someone always knows someone by that name that they don't like?
We had that problem a few times when naming our children, every time it was " i was at school with a girl called that and she was a bitch" or " my mates brother is called that and he's a twat".
know what I mean?

Popular names are too many.
Jack is kinda boring. Alex is okay.
Jodie is okay. But why not pick something
more unique but not over the top like...
Mia or Jacinda for a girl is a nice distinguished name,
Gage or Kael ( not quite sure about pronunciation maybe 'Kay-el' -Celtic/Gaelic for mighty warrior) for a boy?
I'm sure you'll figure it out Poppet! :toothy7:

I know what you mean about knowing someone you hate with a name you like. When my little girl was born hubby really liked the name Louise. I hate it, don't get me wrong, the name isn't that bad, but I've worked with two Louise's and both were crazy bitches. And no way was I wanting to name my child after that.

I work with a silly person (toned it down a bit there) called Louise, she's a bit like that pregnant woman in The Office (christmas specials), you know the pregnant one. A right pain in the arse!
I also work with a guy called Lee who is very stupid, actually now that I think about it, lots of people I work with are stupid or a pain in the arse, perhaps that means I am too!
Oh great now I've depressed myself, my thumbs have gone weird, time to consider my options.
Greg is a good name, lots of nice people are called Greg, can't hink of any at the moment but I'm sure they're out there.
I'll go now, started rambling again.

Sonia reminds me of that fat, ginger jolly Scouse bird that had a very brief singing career (thank God).
Fiona is quite nice although it's quite posh innit.....or is that Fifi?
I think Static is on drugs with his suggestions and Jut's are bit too Russian for the depths of Scotland. What Scottish names are there, apart from Hamish?
Jut
11th May 2005, 02:49 PM
lol none of mine are russian....they are all names of friends who i deem to be "a bit of alright" and i think the name is cute.......lenka is slovak and katia is from italy:)

How about Haggis then?
If you wanted your boy
to grow up a fisherman you could name him Gaspar or Ahab.
You could go really ethnic with your girl's names like Yolanda or Laquicia.

im not too keen on the name greg, but that may be because everytime i say it, people think im saying 'craig'.
I know a nice greg, he's great. the only thing i that he gets a tad depressed from time to time. Probably because he's stuck being my mate.
Name the kid Antonia. Go on. it means priceless, flourishing flower.

Me Popped?? Chance would be a fine thing.
I'm still here - sadly- four days overdue.
To add to my misery I've found out that my ligaments in my pelvis and pubic bone are tearing (who crossed their legs first?) OH THE JOYS!!! so for the past month I've been ordered to have complete bedrest.
So to say I'm a tad cheesed off would be an understatement...but ho-hum..it can only get better.
So how is you lot?

Oh, dear Poppet...since you asked, I shall pour my heart out. Civilization is fine. My damn friends try to drag me out all the time. For instance, this last weekend was a holiday weekend and I had Monday off. Well, hell, I needed it because by Monday I was so tired I don't think I made it out of the pajamas. Couple that with my own personal mid of the first half of life crisis...and things have been swell. Well, okay...last weekend I was all moody and sappy because I don't enjoy my work anymore (if I ever really did) but I actually made up my to start applying for positions in my degree field. Think good thoughts for me that I may become a teacher like I should have been all along. Oh, and today I forked over $2200+ for dental work (insurance paid a little over $7000) and now my mouth hurts like the dickens. On the bright side, since I refuse to use nitrous oxide, I had no illusions that it would hurt when the novacaine wore off. Silly me...I didn't ask for a prescription for hydrocodone, either. It probably wouldn't have mattered anyway since my mom ended up begging most of them off of me when I got a script for them after a root canal six months ago. Eh, such is life.
So, did you decide on names for sure yet?
