Hi everyone!!!

Boy it's good to be back!!

And I have some news that might be a first for Shiola*.........I'm having a baby!!!!!
It's due to pop out and give me agonising pain on the 29th may...i feel the size of a house already.

I've also started making a virtual baby-sitting rota, and all your names are on it ;o)

Congratulations!! A wee baby!

I was wondering where you were, but I suppose being pregnant is a valid excuse for being away for a bit. Remember this thread for picking your kid's name - http://www.shiola.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1067

Do you know what sex it is yet, or are you waiting?

Aw... congrats! If the little one is due in May, then you must have been busy in August, right? ;)

Ha, ha, ha!!! Let's see what kinds of things Poppet was posting in August.....

Hmmmmm...interesting. I think from this we can conclude that forum post entries and pregnancy have absolutely nothing in common.

Yay, poppet! I was wondering where you'd gone....but yeah, thet's a good excuse. Though, if the tot is due in may....you didn't JUST NOW figure this out I hope. You seriously have to video the delivery and post it here so that maybe all these 14 and 15 year olds will lay off the sex talk for 5 minutes.... :)

AWWW, thank you everyone. You're making me cry, but that's the hormones, cos right now i can cry at toilet-roll adverts on telly!!

LOL, yea DP only just realised when i couldnt get my jeans on last week!! Seriously tho, I've known since I've been just a few weeks. We started tellling people at the 12 weeks mark. Which is when my sister in law fessed up that she was pregnant too!!!! I had began to tell others outside the family when sadly my sister in law had a miscarriage. So out of fright/supersticion I kept it to myself mostly. But *touch wood* things seem ok and I'm relaxed again. Just the thought of stretch marks get my all icky!!!

Thanks Ben, yup I do need ideas for names. Actually, I like the name Ben. but hubby doesn't so that one's out. I also like Jamie, but thats gay acording to hubs...so as you see I need all the help I can get!!!

Also, can I just say I'm discusted at the person who said that babies can fetch a high price, whats wrong with you? Don't you know organs go for higher ;o)

For your sake I was hoping you knew. I've heard of women having their periods long into and even throughout the entire pregnancy. Seriously, I can only think of two good things about being pregnant - the baby at the end and the lack of a period throughout. Sorry about your sister in law. I have a coworker who was so exicted about being pregnant for the first time and told just about everyone. She ended up miscarrying, too. But your new tot will be fine! Did you say that it will be a boy? I think I missed that.

Oooo, I just remembered something. You really liked the name "Jefferson" didn't you? That's right. You just went on and on about what a great name it is. Go for it...with my blessing.

Jefferson...hmmm that's right, but I could never ever steal that from you DP, that's your favourite and I couldn't live with the guilt :o)

I actually dont know the sex, my local hospital no longer tells you. It's got it wrong a few times and I've heard a story that a couple are sueing them 'cos they told them the wrong sex.....kinda sad if you ask me, 'cos at the end of the day what fucking difference does it make, as long as its healthy i couldn't give a damn.
But I firmly believe that a babys sex is about the only surprise we have left as an adult and i'm kinda glad they've taken temptation away.
This is my second baby, and hubby said he loved phoning people saying "IT'S A GIRL" rather than just "by the way thats it out" lol.

And about your story about women not knowing, I read about a woman who didnt know she was pregnant until the baby plopped on the kitchen floor in the middle of the night!! hard to believe, and even harder when I realised it was her THIRD child LOL. Silly moo ;o)

Well, I wouldn't want you to feel guilty, so I'll just stick that one back in my pocket.

Actually, that's crap that people would sue over something like that. It's not an exact science. Someone I knew in high school had a relative who was having a baby, and the hospital had told them it would be a girl. Even after they settled on a girl's name, everyone told them they should pick out a boy's name just in case. It turned out that they did have a boy, so they named him Justin Case (just-in-case).

I like Constantine for a boy, or Tim.

For girls I like Valentina or Jeanne.

If I ever con one of those men fellows into marrying me and we decide to have a baby, I wouldn't care what sex it was either. Part of me would rather have a boy because teenage girls are such pains but child-age boys are just as bad. I think I'd still want to know before he or she was born so I could go to the mall and buy a lot of cute baby things in pink or blue, depending. :) I'm so excited for you!

Oooo..my mom's car is named Sophie. All my cars turned out to be male. My current one is named Harry. Both would be proper names for kids, too.

I used to like the name Sophie, until a friend pointed out that it reminded her of SOFA!!!!
