Take a look at the picture, the one on the left is the original, the one on the right is the 'touched up' version. Amazing difference, she must have really annoyed someone to make them release both photos. For the record, I think she was on 'Footballer's Wives' ( A British TV show).

If everyone realized that about 95% of the photos in magazines, ads, etc. are touched up, then maybe this won't be a problem.

My sister's friend was one of the most attractive girls I've ever seen, but she felt like she needed to lose weight and now she's a size zero and looks very sickly. It's quite sad.

same with my best friend.....shes been depressed, bullemic, ana etc... and in and out of hospital for years....breaks my heart.....and the ironic thing is that she is just making herself look worse.
unfortunatly the pics just give guys unrealistic expectations and girls unrealistic targets.

I personally think that airbrushing could give some fat loser the incentive to lose weight. Some people need to learn that "Big and Beautiful" can also be translated into "unhealthy and wasteful".

My post will likely cause a little stir, but the fact remains that the obese population is rising. Obesity is now the number 1 killer in America (sorry to the previous number 1....heart disease). Many people had problems with smokers becoming a drag on the health system; now fat people have jumped on the wagon (and broke the wheels).

Furthermore, I do not want to open Maxim and look at a bunch of chubby normal people.... what is the sport in that?

That's a good point. Imagine if they airbrushed a fat person and said "This is what you could look like" - and airbrushed in a Greenpeace ship dragging them off a beach somewhere..... Might inspire them.

Guy, very poetic saying the heart is all that matters, but I heard today that they can airbrush the heart too. I'm getting mine done from the usual withered grey look to a big plum tomato red. Lovely. Now I'll be beautiful on the inside too.

Good to know Hammer that you are not a circus freak, how much longer is that second toe exactly?
I think the woman in the photo is not obese, it is not esp attractive or unattractive entirely but she could probably benefit from some exercise.
And I agree with Don and think ultimately maturity rules where the heart is concerned

on the subject of obesity....I travelled to slovakia over christmas (so good i'm going during easter) and i must of seen, what, two? three? chubbers. the rest had figures to die for. In my opinion not only do the chubbers themselves hold responsibility (stop eating and move around a little for christ sake) but food manufacturers and supermarkeks also share a portion of blame.
For example take tescos.....go to the cake department and look at dohnugts.....99p for 10 of the bastards in one nice bag whereas its 22p for a single one........obviously 99p for 10 is a bargin so they are bought instead of the single ones. don't let food go to waste so 10 of them are consumed instead of 1 or 2.
The cost of organic food over processed food is crazy and wallet wise ends up favouring the processed crap.
The amount of sugar, salt and other crap added to food to cover up the taste of piss poor ingredience lies at the hands of the food manufacturers.......

FYI the food in slovakia was fantastic, all natural.......hell in the village i was staying in every house had a mini farm in their back garden....chickens, bunnies, vegetables....mmmmm.......no wonder eastern european women are so hot :)
