My School District is AWESOME!

well this week has been the most awesome week ever!! so after the christmas break it snow and the school district clese school monday and tuesday and put a 2 hour delay on wednesday thursday and friday, so i got to school wednesday and thursday and it snows thursday night so the closed down school friday too!!! so i only had like one and a half days of schhol this week!! YAY!

Yeah, we had an ice storm here, too, and since I work for the state government, we have inclement weather days like the schools do. The governor allowed us to go home at noon on wednesday. of course, since it is government, we weren't told that we could go home at noon until 1:30 pm. (yes, that's an hour and a half after we weren't supposed to be there anymore). It's a bitch.

You better hope their nuclear war and natural disaster warning systems are slightly more effective.

We once had a problem with our fire alarm inadvertantly sounding. In their wisdom, "Administration" disabled the alarm. In hindsight it would have been handy a few weeks later when the heating unit in the ceiling caught fire and the floor I worked on began filling with smoke.
